Warren sets sights high for U16 futsal at Euros

- BY JC REPORTER

FUTSAL SCOTT Warren has challenged Maccabi GB’s U16 Boys’ Futsal squad to maintain their winning habit at the European Maccabi Games in Budapest.

Boss Warren will work closely with assistant-manager Jamie Nagioff in a sport MGB have excelled at in recent years.

“Winning silver at the 2013 Maccabiah Games in Israel was a special achievement and still gives me goosebumps thinking about it,” said Warren.

“The squad has been training solidly on a weekly basis since September. We will travel to Hungary strong, prepared and ready for the job in hand. We have a great mix of players, some who have been involved in the futsal fraternity for a number of years and some new to the game that we saw potential in being able to adapt to the fast, skilful side of futsal.”

Asked about his aims, Warren said: “To defend our gold medal achieved by my U16 squad four years ago in Berlin, connect to our Jewish identity as a team and make friends from all over the world.”
