Golfers will fly flag for MGB

GOLF BENJAMIN Brownson believes Maccabi GB’s Golf squad has the perfect blend of youth and experience ahead of the European Maccabi Games.

Squad chairman Brownson said: “We are thrilled to welcome new players into the squad, and welcome back those with previous experience of internatio­nal Games. It is a great mix.”

GB will field three players in the Open competitio­n, managed by Daniel Rubin, as well as four in the Masters.

Asked about the aims of the golf squad, Rubin said: “Members of both sides have achieved individual and team success at the EMG four years ago in Berlin and we are looking forward to the challenge of maintainin­g this high standard.”

Masters’ manager Russell Nathan said: “We look forward to learning first-hand about the history of the Budapest community and current state together as a team, which will no doubt strengthen our Jewish identity but also help us bond together as a team.”
