Pop star sings Israel’s praises, then doesn’t

AMERICAN singer Demi Lovato’s trip to the Jewish state last week all seemed to be going swimmingly. The 27-year-old had reported to her 72 million Instagram followers, “There is something absolutely magical about Israel”, adding in another post that the trip helped her “fill the Godsized hole in my heart”. And guess what happened next? She was bombarded with abuse. After turning off an Instagram comment thread and deleting a message in which she thanked Israel, Lovato replied: “Sorry I’m not more educated, and sorry for thinking this trip was just a spiritual experience”. We’re sorry too, Demi – for the way the world is.
