United Synagogue man is new star of CBeebies
UNITED SYNAGOGUE communications director Richard Verber has become an unlikely star of children’s TV, featuring in a new CBeebies show, What’s On Your Head?
Inspired by the wearing of face masks during the pandemic, the tenpart series explores the items people wear to cover their faces or their heads for religious, cultural, professional or safety reasons.
Mr Verber is fronting the episode being broadcast next Thursday about the kippah and hopes viewers will
“come away with an insight into Judaism’s beautiful festivals and traditions”.
Making the episode had been “a fascinating challenge, filming under strict government coronavirus guidelines and distilling the basics of Judaism into just a few minutes for young learners,” he said.
