Give Loach his own medicine

Standing up for Ken Loach being allowed to speak at Oxford University is a misguided and hypocritical surrender (No silencing, leader comment, 12 February).

Loach has long expressed his loathing for Israel and supported the BDS movement and banning of any Israeli speakers and pro-Israel speakers anywhere.

Why not let him feel the sting of being banned and see how it feels? He cannot support banning others and yet have the right to speak himself and express freely his prejudices, so reflective of his extreme Left wing, deluded views.

I hope the Jewish, Israeli and pro-Israel students have the courage to attend his talk in force and give him the most uncomfortable of rides and shout him down, just as he supports the shouting down of those he does not agree with. Martin Sugarman Historian and Author, BritishIsrael Coalition
