A very different story
I was saddened to read Leonora Samuel’s letter( The Senior Jewess, 19 February).
I too was at Roedean School, from 1958-63.
My parents gave the school a pair of silver candlesticks so that candles could be, and were lit every Friday night.
The headmistress, Mrs Jean Fort, was delighted to accept them and happily offered her study for this purpose .
My conclusion was that antisemitism was not part of the ethos of Roedean and was not present in any way during my time at the school.
