Imperial star almost rises to Challenge
DESPITE A virtuoso performance from captain Michael Kohn, reigning University Challenge champions Imperial College missed out on a chance to retain their title after a close defeat to Warwick University in Monday’s semifinal programme.
Mr Kohn shone in the latest episode of the long-running TV quiz, scoring more than half his team’s points single-handedly.
A student in pure maths, he answered seven starter questions correctly in subjects that included literature, photography, jazz, geography and chemistry.
He also added to Imperial’s score with bonus points.
When Warwick seemed to be stretching their lead, he brought Imperial into contention but the gong struck before Imperial could complete their comeback.
