Enjoying a prize slice of pi
TO DEMONSTRATE the power of memory, Nancy Reuben pupils were set a challenge: how many digits could they memorise for the number pi.
The children were taught some memorisation techniques before Pesach and then put their minds to work during their holidays. “The results were unbelievable,” said Daniel Sunshine, deputy head of the independent primary in Hendon.
The winners were Jacob Elliott, of year 6, who memorised 502 digits, and Levana Field, year 5 with 160, earning themselves a prize-winning pie on their return to school this week.
