Another Labour MP gives speech at hate-filled rally

- BY JC REPORTERS

LABOUR LEADER Keir Starmer is being urged to take action against an MP who attended a rally where protesters chanted about murdering Jews.

Swansea West MP Geraint Davies spoke at a pro-Palestinian rally in the city last month, telling pro-Palestine protestors: “I am with you”.

Following his speech the crowd begin chanting “Khaybar, oh Jews” – a war chant about the 7th Century Muslim massacre of Jews in the Battle of Khaybar.

After video of the event emerged, Mr Davies sought to disassociate himself from the chanting but failed to offer an apology for attending what campaigners have branded the “Islamist equivalent of a KKK hate rally”.

Euan Philipps, spokesman for Labour Against Antisemitism described the video as “shocking footage” and urged Sir Keir to take action or risk the charge that his promise of ‘zero tolerance’ did not extend to Labour MPs.

He added: “The disturbing footage of Labour MP Geraint Davies [at the rally] … requires a serious response from Keir Starmer. The Labour Party leader cannot continue to ignore the unacceptable actions of some of his MPs. He is supposed to be tackling antisemitism in the Labour Party.

Responding to LAAS, Mr Davies said he did not support the chanting that took place.

In a tweet, he said: “I called in Swansea for an end to the killing of civilians in Palestine and Israel, peace and reconciliation and a two state solution and adherence to international law.

“I therefore do not support any chanting in Arabic that followed that called for the opposite.”

According to Wales Online, the Swansea event was organised by Nizar Neezo Dahan. Dahan’s Twitter account talks about “Zionist scum” and “dirty Zionist rats”.
