DAWN SHINDLER, business travel consultant, EFR Travel (www.efrtravel.co.uk)

Not many of our business clients have travelled since March 2020, so now that they are starting to look at face-toface meetings, we’re very careful to ensure that before we book anything, they are compliant and aware of all Covid regulations around their travel and have the supporting paperwork as well as time to self-isolate if their vaccination status requires it. Additionally, the UK has now left the EU, which does bring extra requirements around passport validity – any travellers from the UK now must have a minimum of six months on their passports. Everyone is required to complete a checklist around this and Covid before we’ll book their trip, but we are seeing people keen to travel again for business.

DAVID AND KIM STRANGE, taking a UK holiday with their children, aged eight and ten

We’ve been taking an overseas holiday every year for the past ten years as a family, but we decided earlier this year to stay in the UK for our 2021 summer holiday. We realised that at least two of us would need to renew our passports to meet the new regulations of six months now that the UK is no longer in the EU. We could travel to amber list countries, as both my wife and I are vaccinated, and our children are young enough to travel with us and not self-isolate on return. But we’re really looking forward to our staycation; just hope the weather is good!
