London hosts first Interfaith Fun Run
MACCABI GB is looking forward to bringing you the inaugural London Interfaith Fun Run on Monday, August 30, in partnership with the Faith & Belief Forum.
The run builds on the success and model of the Community Fun Run and would not have been possible without the support of Dangoor Education and Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London’s Faith Council.
You can join hundreds of participants from all walks of life at the StoneX Stadium in Barnet, previously Allianz Park, and home of Saracens FC, to raise money for more than 30 charities that work across religious and cultural communities, celebrating and supporting our diverse capital.
The London Interfaith Fun Run will bring together members of the community of all ages, abilities and religious observances, who can choose to walk or run the 1km, 5km or 10 km routes.
They will raise funds to support charities such as Faiths for the Climate, Humanists UK, Stand Up! Education
against Discrimination and CitySikhs.
A food court at the event will offer cuisine from a wide range of cultures, and there will also be a charity fair, where you can visit and support charities from London’s diverse community.
In addition, there will be an Interfaith Fun Zone. The aim is to provide a ‘summer festival vibe,’ featuring performances and interactive activities for all to enjoy. All are invited!
The event is described as “a true festival of fun, positivity and togetherness, something which we have all been so desperate for over the past 18 months”.
The Faith & Belief Forum has worked in London and beyond for more than 20 years, with well-established interfaith programmes including ParliaMentors, school linking, LGBT+Faith, the Faith & Belief Community Awards, and more.
The overall aim is to build good relations between people of all faiths and beliefs and to create a society where difference is celebrated.
