Graceless leftists
Anshel Pfeffer laments that at an event in Jerusalem marking the anniversary of the historic Abraham Accords, no one mentioned that the guests of honour instrumental in making them happen, namely “Netanyahu, Mike Pompeo, Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, are all now exes, turfed out of office” (A brutal battle for power…at the Jewish Agency?, 15 October).
They didn’t because it is irrelevant, given their extraordinary achievement enabling these Accords — the first tangible move to peace in decades in a Middle East riven by chaos and warfare. Pfeffer’s acerbic comment is typical of the gracelessness of a cheerleader of leftist groupthink who cannot tolerate the success of those of a different viewpoint from their own.
In politics everyone becomes an ex at some point, unless they die in office, but their achievements live on, making the world a better place,
