Chesed with a French accent

-

YAVNEH COLLEGE students put their knowledge of French to practical use when they created materials to help children in earthquake-hit Haiti.

The local Council of Churches in Borehamwood sponsored two containers of items needed by people in the Caribbean country following the destruction of homes and schools.

For their contribution, Yavneh pupils made activity books in French, as well as matching-pair games and flashcards for younger children to play with.

Working with a local charity Gratitude, the school supports people at home and abroad in line with the school’s motto, Olam Chesed Yibaneh, “a world built on kindness”,

Executive head Spencer Lewis said, “We are so proud of our Informal Jewish Education department, led by Sarah Max. These projects exemplify everything for which our school stands.”
