Austrian pupils re-enact a Nazi execution of Jews

- BY ROB HYDE GERMANY

► A GROUP of pupils in Austria staged a Nazi-style execution of Jews and went on to share their gruesome footage on TikTok and Instagram.

The distressing incident took place in the classroom of a vocational school in the Carinthia region of Austria, where male students aged 14 to 17 made “Jewish prisoners” kneel with their heads bowed in submission.

Two girls then assumed the roles of the execution committee and performed Heil Hitler salutes before pretending to order the murders.

One of the pupils reportedly filmed the entire re-enactment, which later surfaced on the TikTok and Instagram account of one of the participants. The posts were adorned with Nazi symbols.

Several classmates were reportedly appalled by the actions of their peers and promptly informed the school administration.

As a result, the incriminating recordings were seized and removed from social media platforms, and the associated accounts were blocked.

Despite the gravity of the situation and the distress it has caused, the responsible education directorate has not suspended the involved pupils. Instead, the school authorities say they are handling the matter internally.

However, those responsible for the re-enactment were reported to the police by people who saw the material online.

The State Office for State Protection and Counter-Extremism have also been called in to investigate the matter further.

“In every case, a report goes to the public prosecutor,” said a spokesperson for the regional police in Carinthia. One in three Austrians believes Jews “dominate international business” and are exerting growing “power and influence” in politics and the media, according to a study conducted last year by the Institute for Empirical Social Research on behalf of the Austrian parliament. According to the report, almost 60 per cent of Austrians have witnessed antisemitic language or behaviour in the past year.
