AFREE NETWORKING event for students and graduates will take place on the evening of Wednesday 10 April. Organised by Work Avenue, the Union of Jewish Students (UJS) and Masa Israel Journey, the event is aimed at connecting attendees with professionals from various industries.

Participating organisations will include Google, EY, Charlotte Tilbury, British Airways, PWC, the Daily Mail, WPP, the Civil Service and Freshfields, giving insights into industries including finance, law, accountancy, marketing, media, tech, the public sector and more.

Work Avenue head of employment Yael Shainfeld says: “Our free annual student career networking provides a unique opportunity for students and recent graduates to meet with professionals across a range of sectors and gain industry insights, application advice and hear personal and realistic experiences of what it is like to work for some of the UK’s biggest employers.”

Attendees will get the opportunity to network, ask questions and gain personal advice on the best ways to enter their sector of choice, as well as tips on what can be done now to maximise initial career opportunities in the future.

There will be a number of panel sessions, from which attendees can choose two, giving the chance to meet and ask questions of professionals representing different sectors of interest.

Yael says attendees will derive four key benefits from the event — expanding their horizons, building networks, receiving guidance and gaining confidence.

She adds: “If you’re still studying or have recently graduated, you may not yet have a firm idea of what you want to do. This evening will help you gain insights into a wide range of industries and career opportunities you may not have considered before. “It will also help you to meet professionals who can offer advice, mentorship and potentially even internship or job opportunities in the future, as well as hearing personal stories to inspire and guide your own journey. “Finally, engaging with professionals in a networking setting will help you build confidence in communication and interpersonal skills, which are invaluable in any career path.”
