WORKAVENUE,the community’s leading employment and business support organisation, will be running two training courses in May on building and coding websites.

Unlike other training options, which provide only the course, Work Avenue’s offers a number of benefits, including the opportunity for paid freelance projects with its business clients.

Work Avenue’s director of training Jeremy Bohn runs the social enterprise. He says: “For those looking at getting into or returning to the workplace, seeking promotion or wishing to change career, we offer a golden opportunity — the chance to train in a new field and gain the vital work experience that is essential for any CV.

“We also believe in reducing barriers to quality education, making it accessible to all. That is why our course prices are hugely subsidised and delivered by industry experts who prioritise the practical, realworld skills that employers’ value.”

Work Avenue’s advanced WordPress website building course takes place over three weeks, starting on Wednesday, May 1.

It is designed for intermediate to advanced WordPress users, web developers and designers who seek to elevate their skills in using Oxygen Builder, one of the most powerful tools for creating bespoke and complex WordPress sites.

The course also delves into the use of advanced plug-ins that extend functionality

and enhance the capabilities of WordPress websites. It focuses on practical, hands-on learning to enable participants to build sophisticated, high-quality websites.

A website coding course runs for three weeks from Wednesday, May 22. It is designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to website development, covering four key technologies: HTML, CSS, PHP and JavaScript.

Ideal for beginners and those looking to solidify their coding foundations, the course offers a hands-on approach to understanding and applying these languages to create functional, responsive and visually appealing websites.

Both courses cost just £45 for members of Work Avenue’s social enterprise (or £90 for others). Work Avenue’s team of experts then match the participants to its business clients who need website building, development and support, so they can gain paid work experience in what Jeremy describes as a “win win”.

He adds: “Our support doesn’t stop there. We have also helped many of those training with us to go on and find permanent work in their chosen field, or set up their own business or agency.”
