STACK fans will be delighted to know that bookings are now available for its big spring re-opening.

The container village is among the city centre favourites quick to announce a return to business on April 12 – the soonest rules allow – and customers clearly can’t wait to be back.

News of its re-opening plans – also applying to Stack in Seaburn – soon attracted thousands of comments from customers looking forward to socialising there again. And those keen to be among the first to bag a table will be able to make bookings from this Wednesday.

Bookings will open at 4pm and must be made online, with the first batch of dates being released set to include the first two weeks from April 12.

Places will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The re-opening announcement was shared on Stack Newcastle’s Facebook page as the “news you’ve all been waiting for” and it soon attracted more than 2,000 comments. Stack Seaburn’s page added over 1,000 more.

One follower wrote: “Can’t wait to book a table; excellent food and drink and music and dance and sing along with friends”, and another called it “best news of the year”.

Others were tagging pals suggesting it for a get-together or birthday celebration.

Boris Johnson’s road map out of lockdown includes the opening of outdoor hospitality venues no sooner than April 12, while bars and restaurants are set to welcome customers back through their doors from May 17.

In the meantime, Stack is currently offering a food and drink collection service from several of its street food outlets ahead of its re-opening.
