New careers advice service
A NEW service has been launched in a Northumberland town in a bid to help young people realise their full potential.
Prudhoe North county councillor Angie Scott has been working alongside Prudhoe Community Partnership and Northumberland County Council officers to deliver a new service. Opening on June 10, the career and skills advice service will see attendance from the National Careers Service on a weekly basis as well as the council and the NHS’s apprenticeship schemes and other local employers. Coun Scott said: “When I was campaigning to represent Prudhoe North as a county councillor for Northumberland County Council, parents and young people repeatedly expressed their concerns that there was no local access to careers guidance, information on training opportunities and help to find apprenticeships and jobs.”
