Nurse stands accused of chart deceit
A NURSE has appeared in court accused of “altering a medication administration chart to avoid disciplinary action”.
David Hamilton is alleged to have committed the fraud in order to keep his job in Kenton, Newcastle, over a 12-day period in March last year. The 62-yearold was in the dock at the city’s magistrates’ court on Wednesday.
Hamilton, of Anick View, in Hexham, spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address and to say he would be withholding his plea to one count of fraud by false representation.
Emma O’Hegarty, prosecuting, said the case should be sent to the crown court.
Magistrates agreed and declined jurisdiction.
Hamilton was released on unconditional bail to appear at Newcastle Crown Court on June 1.
