Burke leads the way as Consett claim victory

ANNFIELD Plain made 156 all out at home to Consett, thanks to 40 from Anthony Hornby and 43 from Shane Oliver added 43.

Dan Pyke and Waqarullah Ishaq shared six wickets between them.

In reply, Craig Burke struck 43 and Robbi Hockaday 36 to see Consett home on 158-7.

Percy Main batted first at Tillside and, thanks to Sebastian Carty making 75 not out and Owen Shield’s 35, they totalled 185-9 - Sean Whitty the pick of the bowling with 3-23.

The home side then lost wickets to the bowling of Philip Cramman (3-38) and totalled 158-8 in reply.

Morpeth were skittled for just 87 at Tynedale thanks to Sam Peter (3-21), Archie Fletcher (3-11) and Jake Robson (4-5).

Thomas Cant wasted no time in seeing his side to a seven-wicket win as he reached 68 not out from 52 balls.

■ BRANDON remain top of Division One of the North East Durham League and undefeated.

They were asked to bat first at home to Littletown and former Durham batsman Gordon Muchall posted a fine 97, alongside 76 from Chris Peareth.

The pair put on 123 for the second wicket in a huge total of 258-6.

Littletown started well in response but they were eventually all out for 153, Jamie Robson claiming an excellent 5-19 and Ryan Green 3-51.

South Shields had Muhammad Uzair Afaq to thank as he made 46 out of 190-7 at home to Seaham Harbour. Joshua Leslie also hit 43 not out from 56 balls. Runs from Regan Pattison (31), Niall Cowell (46) and Ryan Consitt (37) helped steer the Harbour to 192-9 and victory with just two balls to spare – Tharusha Fernando the pick of the bowling with 3-21.

George Pullinger amassed 75 and Callum Steel 14 off 105 balls, which included 19 fours and four sixes, in Durham City’s massive total of 295-7 at Boldon.

The home side then lost early wickets as Paul Moralee took 3-25 and never recovered – finishing on 106 all out.
