Woman, 90, hospitalised after crash
A 90-YEAR-OLD woman was taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg and hip after being hit by a car in Whitley Bay at the weekend.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Whitley Road, where the pensioner had been knocked over, at around 2pm on Saturday.
The ambulance service dispatched a specialist paramedic, rapid response team, clinical team leader, and a double ambulance.
Paramedics then transported the woman to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington for further treatment.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson added of the incident: “It was reported that a 90-year-old woman had been hit by a car sustaining a suspected broken leg and hip.”
