Pensioner dies after crash

AN investigation has been launched by police after a pensioner died following a three-vehicle collision near the Newcastle Falcons’ stadium.

Northumbria Police was alerted to a three-vehicle collision on Brunton Road near to the entrance of the Kingston Park stadium at around 3.40pm on Friday, April 29.

A man in his 70s who was taken to hospital with serious injuries has since died, police said yesterday. His next of kin have been notified and are being offered support by specialist officers.

Now officers are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to get in touch. They especially want to hear from anybody who was travelling in the area who may have dashcam footage that can assist their investigation.
