Use your loaf, it’s a stottie

BRIAN Taylor asks about the batch loaf and wonders if it could have been the Greggs stottie.

As far as I am aware a batch loaf is just that, part of a batch, and usually referring to the bog standard large loaf. I wonder if he is confusing this with a ‘fadge’. This was a term we used to describe a flat loaf similar to a stottie which I can recall being sent to buy. However when I look this up on Google it seems to derive from Ireland as a different sort of bread.
