Seven-year wait for victory ends

-

THE Sunderland round of the Sportsbreaks.com Tour Series produced first-time wins for Blake Quick (TRINITY Racing), Sammie Stuart (Team LDNBrother UK) and team Jadan-Vive Le Velo, while Ribble Weldtite returned to the winner’s podium.

Ribble Weldtite’s win in Mowbray Park enabled the champions to move into second, four points off the lead.

For Jadan-Vive Le Velo it was their first win in seven years of competing in the team series.

However, after the evening’s two races it was still Pro-Noctis Rotor Redchilli Bikes Heidi Kjeldsen and Wiv SunGod in the series leaders’ yellow jerseys, albeit with the latter giving up two points after local rider Thomas Mein crashed out following a collision mid-race.

Mein’s exit, after hitting Harry Tanfield (Ribble Weldtite), briefly threatened to upset Wiv SunGod – but they came come third behind Ribble Weldtite and TRINITY Racing.

Pro-Noctis Rotor Redchilli Bikes Heidi Kjeldsen took second place on the night to hold a nine-point lead over Team Boompods with four rounds of the series remaining.
