Workers ‘have more power than pre-pandemic’
THE world of work has changed for good because of the pandemic, with employers now having to offer increasingly attractive packages to staff, according to a report.
Research suggested that more than a third of workers feel they have more power than before the Covid crisis.
Almost half of 2,000 workers surveyed by Benenden Health said they believed the pandemic has changed their relationship with their employer.
The effect was a “significant power shift” from employers to employees, said the report.
The study also indicated that workers are increasingly likely to extend job searches to wider geographical areas in the hunt for employment offering greater flexibility and benefits.
Three-day weekends were singled out as the main work-related development that employees would like to see introduced in the next few years.
