HALF TERM ADVENTURES

-

Looking for something to occupy the kids during the school holiday? Look no further:

1. Put your detective skills to the test at Ormesby Hall to find clues about its royal connections in celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. There’s craft activities for budding artists too.

2. Follow the new family trail at Beningbrough Hall to discover strange facts and giant butterflies in the garden. Have a go at making a paper pot, fill it with compost and sow a sunflower seed to take home.

3. Take part in your own sports day at Cragside and challenge the family to wheelbarrow races, hoopla and sack races. Get crafty for the Jubilee weekend and help decorate Cragside with paper lanterns, just like Lord Armstrong did for a royal visit in 1844.

4. Enjoy time together as a family at Nunnington Hall with a picnic and garden games, or travel back in time to learn about Nunnington’s royal connections.

5. Take your half term adventures to new heights at Souter Lighthouse and discover how lighthouse keepers lived and helped keep ships at sea safe. Climb the 76 steps to the top, run and play on Foghorn Field, or head to the beach to discover rock pool mini worlds.

6. You’re sure to have a bloomin’ good day out at East Riddlesden Hall with a celebration of blossom this half term. Get creative with blossom craft and follow the trail around the garden to learn about trees.

7. Pack your picnic and explorer skills for a day at Hardcastle Crags with den building, familyfriendly walks and lots of opportunities to create your own scavenger hunt amongst the trees.
