Registration open for Innovation Festival

REGISTRATION for Northumbrian Water’s Innovation Festival has opened.

The event – the sixth to be held in the region – will be staged at Newcastle Racecourse from July 12 to 14, and will include a mixture of sprints, hacks and dashes aimed at solving social challenges linked to climate change, cyber security, water scarcity and future ways of working.

Topics that innovators at the festival will be tackling include how to create a more carbon friendly culture, how to build better community relationships and how to make innovation more inclusive.

Angela MacOscar, head of innovation at Northumbrian Water, said: “Registration is officially open, and we’re going to be back at our birthplace of Newcastle Racecourse.

“Some of the event will be held online again this year, as we want to continue to tap into all corners of the globe and make our event as accessible as possible for everyone.

“But by having different people, viewpoints, backgrounds and cultures together, it means we can get the very best out of our innovators, by having them in whichever environment works best for them.

“There’s something for everyone, so make sure you register now as spaces for this unique event do tend to go quite quickly!”
