Master looks just Dandy

-

MASTER DANDY can build on a narrow victory last time out by winning the Always Gamble Responsibly With BetUK Novice Stakes at Wolverhampton.

James Fanshawe’s four-yearold showed some ability when an admittedly well-beaten third on his racecourse debut, but it was still a performance with promise, as he was slow to break before making late progress.

The son of Dandy Man was then off the track from that run in May until November, when he showed his initial impression to have been correct in securing a hard-fought nose success over Mattella, who has been placed again since.

That Newcastle victory came over six furlongs but he should have the pace to be equally as effective over the minimum trip, with that recent outing putting a racing edge on him.

It’s Not Risky has found his niche upped to middle distances, with a double on the cards in the Best Odds Guaranteed At BetMGM Handicap. Four starts from seven to nine furlongs on the turf provided little joy, but upped to a mile and three furlongs at Southwell on his most recent run, It’s Not Risky got his head in front for Hugo Palmer.

He eases back in distance to an extended nine furlongs, having run well over that distance at Dunstall Park back in November.

Back-to-back victories await Landlordtothestars in the Bet £10 Get £40 At BetMGM Handicap

at Lingfield.

The four-year-old has hit a purple patch for James Evans this winter, winning two of his three runs in the last month or so. Victorious over a mile and half a furlong at the beginning of December, he was beaten just a head in third next time under a 2lb higher mark.

He again had to work hard for his most recent win, prevailing by just a short head over oddson favourite Cephalus.

Landlordtothestars is now 8lb higher than his December win but it is hard to go against him while he is in such good form.

Dire Wolf looked to get outpaced over a mile when fourth earlier this month, so tackling an additional two furlongs is a positive in the BetMGM: It’s Showtime Handicap.

The Showcasing filly has been making steady progress in five outings to date, with her latest length defeat representing her best effort yet for Adam West.

School Days Over should appreciate returning to a familiar course and distance in the Read Harry Cobden’s Blog At PlanetSportBet Handicap Chase at Hereford. Successful over this two miles and five furlongs on his penultimate start, he then dropped back a couple of furlongs at Doncaster and could do nothing more than keep on for third under a 5lb higher mark. Eased 1lb subsequently, it may well be he just wants a longer trip now.
