Give her a mirror halfway across the road, she’ll see life in it, slipping through her hands, a glittering star like an irregular heart which sometimes beats too fast, or beats too faintly.

When her favourite birds fly close she’ll look at them without recognition and terror-struck, she’ll try to glimpse her face – the mirror will be speechless, silent forever.
