Miss Dahl? I prefer the delicious Nigella says Novelli
ALFIE ALLEN and Jaime Winstone have split up after three years together – and this time it’s for good, I’m told.
The on-off actor couple, right, who have been engaged for two years, survived a trial separation in 2008 while Alfie, 23, brother of singer Lily Allen, was on tour as the star of stage show Equus.
A friend of the pair says: ‘They’ve told friends it’s down to conflicting work schedules, but it’s really because their eyes have been wandering and the spark has gone. Jaime says it’s over this time.’
Ray Winstone’s daughter Jaime, 24, will attend the premiere of her film Boogie Woogie next week. Will she walk up the red carpet alone? SOPHIE DAHL may dream of becoming the next Nigella Lawson but, according to chef JeanChristophe Novelli, she doesn’t stand a chance.
Novelli says that Sophie, left, whose cookery programme The Delicious Miss Dahl is on BBC2, doesn’t possess the ingredients to be a great chef.
‘Cooking is not about beauty, it’s about a passion for food,’ says Novelli, right. ‘Sophie is trying to copy Nigella but has a long way to go. Nigella can cook.’
Michelin-starred Novelli, who returns to our screens next month in Family Food Fight, where he will teach families how to cook for a restaurant, added: ‘Sophie’s show is a bit dull. I don’t think it is interesting or anything that we haven’t seen before.’ Former model Sophie, 32, who recently married jazz singer Jamie Cullum, has been lambasted for ‘stilted’ performances on her show, with one critic claiming that she ‘can’t even cut bread properly’.
She has said she simply wants to share her love of honest, simple food, adding: ‘I’m just a greedy
person who likes to eat.’ SHE may be only 13 but when it comes to getting advice on fashion, Madonna’s daughter Lourdes has a hotline to the top. Insiders say Lourdes has been calling fashion designer Stella McCartney for style tips in advance of launching the junior clothing line Material Girl that she is setting up with her mother. ‘Lourdes regularly asks Stella for advice,’ said a source. ‘ When Madonna tries to give her advice she rolls her eyes, but
she looks up to Stella.’ AFTER revealing on her family’s website how much she loves cakes, Kate Middleton has been helping to design cupcakes for her brother James’s company Cake Kit. She is behind a new line that features a map of Sloane Square and the logo for Jigsaw, the store that Kate, 28, used to work for. No doubt the Robinson family, who own Jigsaw and often lend William and Kate their villa on Mustique, will be delighted with the free publicity. THE Middletons’ website Party Pieces is now a family unit. While Kate compiles the online catalogue, brother James, 22, operates his company under the same website. Now Kate’s sister Pippa, 26, has quit her job to work for the family firm. ‘Pippa is editing Party Times, an online newsletter with tips about throwing parties,’ says a friend. It’s the same mag in which Kate revealed that she used to love dressing up as a clown and playing musical statues when she was little. PRINCE CHARLES will not be attending today’s Easter Sunday service at Windsor Castle with the Queen. Instead, he will be celebrating his fifth wedding anniversary with Camilla at Birkhall in Scotland. I’m told the Prince, 61, has planned a special treat for his wife. ‘The fifth anniversary is wood, so Charles has decided to plant some trees with Camilla in their garden.’ PRINCE HARRY was guest of honour when Alexix Wilcox, an old girl chum from his Sandhurst days, tied the knot last weekend. Harry, 25, travelled to Wales to watch the 27-year-old PE teacher and former Army captain marry Captain Howland Jackson at St Teilo Church in Llandeilo. ‘Harry has known Alexix since Sandhurst,’ I’m told. ‘She was so chuffed he made it.’
