Lawyer defending scandal boss once worked for FSA
LAWYER Harvey Knight, right, works for Withers Worldwide, where he is defending Stewart Ford, the Swiss-based tycoon who founded Keydata.
Ford was also linked to Luxembourg business Lifemark, one of the firms where Keydata’s British savers have lost money. The Financial Services Authority has been investigating Ford since September 2008. In a court document last July it said he ‘failed to conduct himself with integrity’.
Ironically, Knight’s experience in the finance industry stems largely from his previous employment – at the FSA.
His resume states that before returning to private practice in 2007, Knight was a senior lawyer and internal troubleshooter at the FSA. Both the FSA and Withers declined to comment.
