UK bargains to f loat your boat!

-

WE MAY be barely into the New Year – but now is a great time to start thinking about a UK self-catering holiday. Traditionally, Britain’s holiday parks open towards the end of March and in order to entice us to book early, many are offering very good incentives.

Hoseasons is the UK’s leading supplier of self-catering accommodation, boasting a portfolio of more than 17,000 places to stay.

The company offers a wide range, from secluded forest lodges to holiday parks, thatched cottages, boats and even city-centre apartments.

More than 150 new cottages are featured for 2013, including about 250 Ultimate Cottages, which offer added extras such as swimming pools, luxurious furnishings, state-of-the-art entertainment systems, hot tubs or particularly stunning locations.

Among Hoseasons’ current offers is £100 off a selection of breaks during the February half term and £200 off summer holidays.

On the water, Hoseasons is launching 18 new boats this year and opening new cruising bases on the River Thames and the Kennet & Avon canal. There is even a new houseboat to rent on the Thames.

Big discounts are also being offered by Away Resorts. They are taking a massive 50 per cent off the price of breaks booked before February 5.

Self-catering accommodation is offered at two of Away Resorts’ three parks – Whitecliff Bay on the Isle of Wight and Tattershall Lakes Country Park in Lincolnshire.

As well as camping and touring fields on both sites, there is Canvas Village – a dedicated ‘glamping’ area. Here holidaymakers can enjoy Bell Tents, which sleep four and are stylishly equipped with a double futon sofabed, two singles, TV, fridge, double gas burner, kitchenware and electric lights.

Whitecliff Bay offers economy, value, comfort and superior chalet accommodation. Economy means simple, clean and affordable family holiday accommodation, equipped with everything guests need from teaspoons to TVs, while superior accommodation has all mod cons. There are also spacious and stylish superior and luxury lodges.

Tattershall Lakes has self-catering accommodation that includes lakeside lodges, compact L’il Lodges, comfort lodges sleeping eight, and top-quality superior and luxury lodges. There are also caravans with wheelchair access.

With a 50 per cent discount, seven nights between March 29 and April 12 in a L’il Lodge sleeping four would cost £368, if paid for by February 5.

Parkdean Holidays has 24 parks situated in some of the UK’s best coastal, countryside and woodland locations, and is offering up to £100 off bookings made by February 3.

The company has recently invested more than £12million in its parks, which has resulted in a number of improvements including new caravans that are extra-wide and feature central lounges with a bedroom and bathroom at either end, double-glazing and central heating. And these days, 22 of Parkdean’s sites are pet-friendly.

Park Resorts has also invested millions in upgrading its parks and its entertainment. It is increasing the number of live and tribute acts on the bill at selected parks and introducing more of its WOW weekends and Movies Under The Stars evenings.

If you are thinking of a cottage break in the Lake District, Yorkshire, the North of England or Scotland, then Cumbrian Cottages has a wide selection of top-class properties. In the South West and Wales, try Holiday Cottages, while Dorset Coastal Cottages has some outstanding properties along the Jurassic Coast and in the Dorset countryside.
