THE claim by Cameron ‘pig-gate’ author Lord Ashcroft that he never meant to make a big deal out of his false claim that the PM performed a lewd act involving a pig’s head turns out to be as bogus as the rest of the book. Ashcroft wanted to put a stock farmyard photo of Cameron holding a pig on the book’s cover to give it spurious credibility – but it was vetoed by the publishers who feared being sued.
