Spend more on your bedroom. NOW!
IF YOU’RE really interested in a good night’s sleep – and we all should be – then invest in your bedroom, says Dr Guy Meadows, founder of The Sleep School.
‘When it comes to your sleeping environment, remember it’s the one place you will spend more of your life in than any other, so take care when designing it. Make it the most beautiful, aesthetically pleasing place to be.
‘To give yourself the best possible chance of drifting off peacefully, ensure you have good light exclusion, sleepfriendly ambient temperature and humidity, quiet, comfort, a sense of order, a lack of fuss, space.’
After meeting this genius, sleep became my number one priority. I changed my diet, eating patterns, everything. I especially focused on making more time to enjoy my sleep, which I now do. I kept a sleeping diary to work out how much I need and realised I am a six-to-seven-hours-a-night man.
Any less than that and I really do take a hit the next day.
