John Marquis was sent off after 58 minutes, with Ade Akinfenwa levelling for Wimbledon, but Hendon said: ‘My players have given everything out there.’

YORK 1 ACCRINGTON 5 BILLY KEE scored twice, with Matty Pearson, Josh Windass (penalty) and Shay McCartan also on target as Accrington inflicted a record eighth straight loss on York, who replied via Bradley Fewster. Home boss Jackie McNamara said: ‘I expected a lot better than that.’

BARNET 1 MANSFIELD 3 ADAM MURRAY was happy after seeing Mansfield win at Barnet thanks to Reggie Lambe and Matt Green, plus a Michael Nelson own goal. Chris Clements also saw red. He said: ‘We were superb.’ John Akinde (penalty) scored for the hosts who had Josh Clarke sent off.

CAMBRIDGE 3 NOTTS CO 1 SHAUN DERRY hailed a terrific second-half comeback as goals from Barry Corr (penalty), Ben Williamson and Luke Berry helped the Cambridge boss earn a win over his former club, for whom Adam Campbell scored. Derry said: ‘We thoroughly deserved it.’

STEVENAGE 4 MORECAMBE 3 HAT-TRICK hero Chris Whelpdale took the plaudits as Stevenage edged out Morecambe. ‘Whelps was fantastic,’ said manager Teddy Sheringham. Dean Wells also scored and Ben Kennedy missed a penalty, as Kevin Ellison (two) and Paul Mullin hit back for the visitors.

CARLISLE 3 CRAWLEY 1 CARLISLE manager Keith Curle is targeting a top-three spot after Charlie Wyke’s (right) brace and Jabo Ibehre’s strike saw off Crawley, who netted through Rhys Murphy. Curle said: ‘I’m striving for promotion.’
