Goldie’s little jump for joy

-

ANYONE looking for evidence that 70 is the new 40 (which I’m all in favour of as it makes me still about 16) should look no further thanth Goldie Hawn’s Instagram account. The veteran actress bounced on to social media last week with a video in which she is seen vigorously ‘rebounding’.

That’s using an indoori trampoline, tot you and me.

Whatever you call it, it’sit not just great fun but also a fantastic workout for anyone, at any age. And it’s especiallyes beneficial to older women becausebe the impact of jumping has a bone-protectingbo effect.

JustJ be sure you haveha a high ceiling… IT WAS interesting to read that Barack Obama’s latest medical report has been made public. His blood pressure was low to normal (112/70), the resting heart rate impressively athletic (56), his weight is great (12½st), BMI good (22.8), and cholesterol levels low. All that basketball in the office is obviously paying off. I’m not actually sure if this is a mandatory thing in the United States but maybe it is something that we should know about all world leaders in future? An international leader leaderboard? It would make fascinating reading. I’ll have a word! SKIN-TIGHT rubber costumes? Check. Pants worn on the outside of tights? Check. Yes, Superman – played these days by the apparently once-overweight actor Henry Cavill – is back, this time in the ‘ultimate superhero face-off’ opposite Batman, aka Oscar winner Ben Affleck. Parents will undoubtedly be hatching plots worthy of a super-villain to minimise spending on the inevitable tide of merchandise that will surround the film. But in the meantime, we might also learn something from the men behind the masks. Cavill claims he and Affleck spurred each other on to get into shape for their roles – and research has shown that teaming up with someone you know well, who has similar goals to you, makes you work harder and achieve more. The prospect of shoehorning their bodies into unforgiving suits was probably an incentive for the stars, too.
