I want to Jump back in despite my ski horror, says Vogue

-

MODEL Vogue Williams is either incredibly brave or utterly bonkers, but I can reveal she has agreed be in the next series of The Jump – even though she’s about to undergo major surgery after suffering a horrific injury in this year’s competition.

Vogue, the ex-wife of Westlife singer Brian McFadden, was persuaded by Channel 4 bosses to sign on the dotted line as she awaits an operation to rebuild her right knee. She is now walking with her leg heavily strapped.

The broadcaster is funding the op, which rather gruesomely involves using part of Vogue’s hamstring to make a new anterior cruciate ligament.

The 31-year-old tore the ligament in a terrible fall in Austria during training for the show, before the first episode was even screened. In The Jump, celebrities compete against each other in various winter sports, and the least successful stars each week must face a daunting ski jump to decide who is eliminated.

Olympic hero Sir Bradley Wiggins has also been forced out due to injury. But unlike Bradley, Vogue is crazy or courageous enough to agree to join the train- ing programme for the next series in early December, not long after she is expected to complete her recovery. ‘It’s been painful and I’ve had two hours of daily physio, but they have already said that I can go back,’ said Vogue, who dated Billie Piper’s ex Laurence Fox before moving on to fellow Jump contestant Spencer Matthews, star of Made In Chelsea.

The Irish model was tough enough to win the Bear Grylls reality show Mission Survive in 2015, but Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards, Britain’s most famous ski jumper, warned: ‘As I hear of each celebrity injury on The Jump, I want to shout, “I told you so!” ’

Comedian Marcus Brigstocke, who crashed out of the first series with the same injury as Vogue, said: ‘It ruined a year of my life.’
