Butland top target as Courtois stalls on deal
CHELSEA are ready to rekindle interest in Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland as Thibaut Courtois stalls over a new contract. Courtois, whose deal expires in 2019, is wanted by Real Madrid and Paris St-Germain. Chelsea first wanted Butland when he was at Birmingham in 2013. The 24-year-old is now regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe. Though currently out with a broken finger, he is expected to return to first-team action within a fortnight. Stoke are likely to want more than the British goalkeeping record of £30million Everton agreed for Jordan Pickford in June.
