STRICTLY Come Dancing chiefs want to tempt back heart-throb Gleb Savchenko in an attempt to ‘sex up’ the show.

Producers hope the Russian dancer, pictured, who won millions of viewers’ hearts performing in the 2015 series, will entice a new legion of fans and replace veteran Brendan Cole, who was sacked after a bitter bust-up with judge Shirley Ballas.

Described as ‘the sexiest man on television’, Gleb – who has a penchant for unbuttoned shirts – quit Strictly after just one season to spend more time with his wife Elena and their two children. But The Mail on Sunday understands that the BBC wants him to return.

A show source said: ‘Strictly want Gleb back. They know the show needs hot men who their viewers, typically millions of housewives across the UK, will tune in to watch. The offer is there, and they are desperately hoping he will say yes.’

Another member of the Strictly crew who will be hoping Gleb, 34, returns is host Tess Daly. She took an instant shine to him and even took to fanning herself whenever he waltzed past her.

The BBC’s move to bring him back comes amid speculation that veteran pro dancer Anton du Beke may also be facing the axe.

Last week he said: ‘We don’t really know what’s going on,’ adding that his future role was still under discussion.
