Brad ‘ terrified that Angelina will flee to Britain with their children’
HOLLYWOOD star Brad Pitt has told friends he fears his estranged wife Angelina Jolie will take their six children and move to London.
Hostilities between the couple erupted again last week when the Tomb Raider star lodged court papers saying Pitt had not paid any ‘meaningful’ child support since their break-up two years ago – a claim he strenuously denies.
Pitt maintains he has paid her more than £1 million to support their children and lent her £6.25 million to buy a home.
Sources close to both sides say the pair have been at loggerheads for months. ‘They can’t agree on anything,’ a friend said. ‘They’re at each other’s throats again.’
The source added: ‘It’s no secret that Angie would like to get full custody of the children and move abroad. Although she has physical custody, she can’t move without Brad’s consent.
‘Brad does not want to have to fly eight or nine hours each time he wants to see his children. He is trying to keep the status quo.’
Pitt’s lawyers called Jolie’s statement over child support ‘unnecessary’ and described it as a ‘thinly veiled effort to manipulate media coverage’.
However, Jolie’s lawyer Samantha Bley DeJean insisted it was accurate. She said Jolie pays interest on the loan, adding: ‘A loan is not, however, child support.’
