THE GOOD NEWS: Buying a beer in Bodrum costs £1 less than last year
THE T plunging Turkish lira is good g news at least for British holidaymakers – they can now save at least £1 on a locally produced beer such as Efes in the popular resort of Bodrum compared with last year. A three-course meal for two people at a mid-range restaurant now costs about £8.50. The bill last summer was more than £15. The cost of a bottle of imported beer to accompany a meal has fallen from £3 to £1.80, while a coffee is priced at £1.10 against £1.70 a year ago. And taxi fares have fallen from 54p per kilometre to 32p, based on data from costof-living website Numbeo.
