In your Quotes of the Week column last week, you attributed this to comedian Peter Kay: ‘Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad.’ But it was Miles Kington – the late broadcaster, musician and journalist – who coined it. Jonathan B. King, Pity Me, Co Durham I have been saying the knowledge/wisdom/tomato line for at least 15 years.
