BOLTON were a struggling Premier League side when Rodrigo spent a season on loan there in 2010. Here are some of the well-known stars they had in their ranks back then...

KEVIN DAVIES: Played 373 times for Bolton, scoring 84 goals. Davies (right) finished his playing career at Preston. Managed non-league Southport for six months and was sacked in April. DANIEL STURRIDGE: After scoring eight goals in 11 games for Bolton, on loan from Chelsea, he returned to Stamford Bridge and won a Champions League medal in 2012. Joined Liverpool for £12m in January 2013. MARCOS ALONSO: Left Bolton in 2013 to join Italian side Fiorentina, before moving back to England when he signed a five-year contract with Chelsea in Augiust 2016 worth around £24m, winning the Premier League and FA Cup. MARTIN PETROV: Bolton signed Petrov from Manchester City and he went on to play 73 times for the club. Has 90 caps for Bulgaria. JOHAN ELMANDER: After scoring what is considered one of the greatest Premier League goals against Wolves in November 2010, he went on to win the league and cup double and the league title in consecutiv­e seasons at Galatasara­y. Also played for Norwich, Brondby and Orgryte in Sweden. GARY CAHILL: Since leaving for Chelsea for £7m in 2012, Cahill (below) has won the Champions League, the Europa League, the Premier League twice, the FA Cup and the League Cup. He has won 61 England caps. FABRICE MUAMBA: Suffered a heart attack during a televised FA Cup match between Bolton and Tottenham. Despite his heart having stopped for 78 minutes he recovered. He retired from profession­al football five months later. He is now a youth coach at Rochdale. STUART HOLDEN: His season was cut short after a fracture of the femur near the knee joint after going into a tackle with Manchester United’s Jonny Evans at Old Trafford on March 19, 2011. Works in TV. ZAT KNIGHT: Twice capped by England, Knight played for Fulham and Aston Villa and 168 times for Bolton.
