The Mail on Sunday - - News -

A QUARTER of Britons think that being vegan means you can’t eat vegetables, according to new research.

Bizarrely, some 27 per cent reckon that vegans can’t eat fruit while six per cent think they CAN eat fish.

Even vegans themselves are confused – with 15 per cent thinking it’s fine to eat butter; 13 per cent saying they still enjoyed eating eggs; and 14 per cent still having cheese.

The UK has 550,000 vegans who refuse to eat any food containing animal products.

The survey of 1,000 people, by Meerkat Meals, found that one in five Britons has considered going vegan.
