You’re dumped – because my dog won’t like you!
A SINGLETON who turned up for a romantic meal with a ‘stranger’ only to find his sister waiting for him has topped a poll for the worst blind dates of the year.
Other disasters included a man who discovered that his date had arrived with her mother in tow and a diner who ate petals from a floral arrangement on the table – mistaking them for a trendy starter.
One of the 1,000 Britons surveyed recalled how his date’s false teeth fell out on to the table, while one man revealed he was dumped when a woman told him that her pet dog wouldn’t like him.
The poll also found that Tinder was the most popular online dating site, followed by Plenty of Fish and Match.
Dominic Gaynor, managing director of TeamSport Karting, which commissioned the poll, said: ‘Blind dates can be an uncomfortable experience.
‘Sometimes doing an activity can take the pressure off and ensure you have a laugh and there are no awkward silences.’
