Helpline backed by MoS gets 1,200 calls in ten months

-

A HELPLINE for British troops suffering battlefield stress launched after a campaign by The Mail on Sunday has received more than 1,200 calls since its launch in February.

As well as creating the Helpline For Heroes, Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson announced an extra £20 million over ten years to fund mental health initiatives.

The helpline, which operates around the clock and has been praised by charity bosses, was inspired by Royal Engineer Nathan Hunt, a former colleague of Prince Harry, who hanged himself on New Year’s Day. He was suffering from PTSD.
