Bike helmets are crucial

I cannot believe Michael Mosley’s comment last week about not wearing a cycle helmet.

A helmet has saved my life on three occasions – the last time was when I was thrown into the air after hitting a pothole.

My helmet had a large dent on top afterwards – that would have been my head if I had not been wearing one. Alan Kaplan, Worcester Michael Mosley is right. Helmets are cumbersome and merely encourage bad cycling. B. Victor, London
