WHAT THEY NEED: Injuries to Rob Holding and uncertaint­y over the future of Aaron Ramsey (right) means Arsenal are pushing for a centre back and attacking midfielder.

LEICESTER

WHAT THEY NEED: Manager Claude Puel is fending off continued speculatio­n over his position and will look to fine-tune his squad by letting a couple go. WHO THEY LIKE: Shoya Nakajima (Portimonen­se), Macauley Bonne (Leyton Orient).

WHO COULD GO: Danny Simpson, Islam Slimani, Andy King, Adrien Silva, Shinji Okazaki.

BOURNEMOUT­H

WHAT THEY NEED: Eddie Howe has lost important players Simon Francis, the captain, and Lewis Cook to long-term knee injuries. So Howe is definitely looking to add a centre back and midfielder preferably on loan deals. WHO THEY LIKE: Andreas Christense­n, Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea), Joe Lolley (Nottingham Forest). WHO COULD GO: Jermain Defoe.

LIVERPOOL

WHAT THEY NEED: Title-chasing Liverpool are unlikely to make many additions barring significan­t injuries. A back-up left back may come into the equation for Anfield manager Jurgen Klopp. WHO THEY LIKE: Lloyd Kelly (Bristol City). WHO COULD GO: Alberto Moreno (left), Rafa Camacho, Dominic Solanke (loan), Divock Origi (loan), Nathaniel Clyne (loan).

BRIGHTON

WHAT THEY NEED: Chris Hughton does not expect to be doing too much business but he is very keen to strengthen his attacking options and to that end he wants to add a striker and perhaps an attacking midfielder. WHO THEY LIKE: Dominic Solanke (Liverpool, left), Isaac Hayden (Newcastle), Youssef Mskani (Al-Duhail), Nick Powell (Wigan). WHO COULD GO: Aaron Connolly.

MAN CITY

WHAT THEY NEED: Cover at left back but a deal for Ben Chilwell will have to wait until the summer, similarly with a defensive midfielder, but they could add a goalkeeper. WHO THEY LIKE: Ben Chilwell (Leicester), Frenkie de Jong (Ajax), Tiago Dantas (Benfica).

WHO COULD GO: Brahim Diaz (Real Madrid), Eliaquim Mangala, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Philippe Sandler (loan), Felix Nmecha (loan).

BURNLEY

WHAT THEY NEED: Manager Sean Dyche wants to arrest his side’s worrying slump after at last admitting the Europa League has affected his season. Dyche will look to strengthen with another centre back plus a right back, midfielder, winger, forward. WHO THEY LIKE: Jack O’Connell (Sheff Utd), Neal Maupay (Brentford). WHO COULD GO: Sam Vokes, Tom Heaton (right).

MAN UTD

WHAT THEY NEED: Much depends on results under caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but they would prefer to save their spending until the summer and will be hoping that he gets the best out of this current squad. WHO THEY LIKE: Nikola Milenkovic (Fiorentina), Ozan Kabak (Galatasara­y), Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli), Eder Militao (Porto). WHO COULD GO: Andreas Pereira, Matteo Darmian (left).

CARDIFF

WHAT THEY NEED: Neil Warnock is very experience­d at fighting relegation battles and is keen to strenghthe­n. Warnock will target a right back, midfielder and striker but they only have room for one more Premier League loan as the club struggle to match the valuations of his targets. WHO THEY LIKE: Emiliano Sala (Nantes), Oumar Niasse (Everton), Nathaniel Clyne (Liverpool), Efe Ambrose (Hibernian). WHO COULD GO: No one.

NEWCASTLE

WHAT THEY NEED: Rafa Benitez is hindered by the proposed takeover but hopes to sign a playmaker and loan a left back and winger. WHO THEY LIKE: Miguel Almiron (Atlanta Utd), Jetro Willems (Eintracht Frankfurt, loan), Simone Verdi (Napoli, loan), Ivan Cavaliero (Wolves).

WHO COULD GO: Jonjo Shelvey (right), Ciaran Clark.

CHELSEA

WHAT THEY NEED: Maurizio Sarri needs a better focal point at striker. He wants better wide, creative options.

WHO THEY LIKE: Gonzalo Higuain (Juventus), Christian Pulisic (Borussia Dortmund), Nabil Fekir (Lyon), Florian Thauvin (Marseille), Eder Militao (Porto). WHO COULD GO: Gary Cahill, Victor Moses (right), Michy Batshuayi, Davide Zappacosta, Danny Drinkwater, Cesc Fabregas.

SOUTHAMPTO­N

WHAT THEY NEED: Ralf Hassenhutt­l has already said he has too big a squad and will look to streamline in January as he builds his style and develops Southampto­n’s youngsters.

WHO THEY LIKE: Thomas Goiginger (LASK Linz).

WHO COULD GO: Manolo Gabbiadini, Wesley Hoedt, Cedric Soares, Steven Davis, Shane Long.

CRYSTAL PALACE

WHAT THEY NEED: Manager Roy Hodgson is wary of interest in his wide players and wants to ensure he is covered while finding a better cutting edge to his attack. WHO THEY LIKE: Dominic Solanke (Liverpool), Jermain Defoe (Bournemout­h), Britt Assombalon­ga, Victor Moses (Chelsea), Ruben Loftus Cheek (Chelsea), Mo Elneny (Arsenal), Garry Rodrigues (Galatasara­y). WHO COULD GO: Alexander Sorloth, Wilfried Zaha, Andros Townsend, Patrick Van Aanholt.

TOTTENHAM

WHAT THEY NEED: Mauricio Pochettino is happy to maintain the no-spend theme but a versatile forward, midfield cover and a centre back are on their wishlist.

WHO THEY LIKE: Victor Tsygankov (D Kiev), Tanguy N’Dombele, Jarrod Bowen (Hull City), Eric Bailly (Man Utd), Jack Grealish (Aston Villa, left), Nathan Ake (Bournemout­h).

WHO COULD GO: Mousa Dembele, Vincent Janssen, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, Victor Wanyama, Fernando Llorente, Michel Vorm.

EVERTON

WHAT THEY NEED: Director of football Marcel Brands wants a striker but may wait until the summer. Priority is signing Andre Gomes on a permanent from Barcelona and a back-up goalkeeper.

WHO THEY LIKE: Callum Wilson (Bournemout­h, right), Michy Batshuayi (Chelsea).

WHO COULD GO: Oumar Niasse, James McCarthy, Kieran Dowell (loan to Sheff Utd), Mason Holgate (loan to West Brom), Phil Jagielka.

WATFORD

WHAT THEY NEED: Javi Gracia is looking to improve his squad and is wary of Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in key midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure.

WHO THEY LIKE: Adrien Tameze (Nice), Philip Billing (Huddersfie­ld), Szymon Żurkowski (Gornik Zabrze). WHO COULD GO: Abdoulaye Doucoure (right), Randell Williams.

FULHAM

WHAT THEY NEED: Claudio Ranieri is looking to succeed where Slavisa Jokanovic failed and bring in more experience­d players at full back, centre back, midfield and attack. WHO THEY LIKE: Dedryck Boyata (Celtic), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Domagoj Vida (Besiktas), Nathaniel Clyne (Liverpool), Matteo Darmian (Man Utd), Danny Drinkwater (Chelsea), Jonjo Shelvey (Newcastle), Islam Slimani (Leicester), Emiliano Sala (Nantes). WEST HAM

WHAT THEY NEED: Manuel Pellegrini is pushing to get another striker in on loan and wants another midfielder plus cover in the full back positions. WHO THEY LIKE: Samir Nasri (free), Gary Medel (Besiktas), Michy Batshuayi (Chelsea) and Gary Cahill (Chelsea, right). WHO COULD GO: Reece Oxford (loan).

HUDDERSFIE­LD

WHAT THEY NEED: David Wagner wants to improve his attacking options. Ideally a striker and winger on loan plus a midfield all-rounder. WHO THEY LIKE: Dominic Solanke, Divock Origi (Liverpool), Joshua Koroma (L Orient), Ivan Cavaliero (Wolves). WHO COULD GO: Raj van la Parra (M’boro, loan), Ramadan Sobhi (Al Ahly, loan), Tommy Smith, Philip Billing (right).

WOLVES

WHAT THEY NEED: Manager Nuno Espirito Santo will be given sufficient funds to ensure Wolves maintain their status in the top flight. Another centre back plus options on the flank and at striker are wanted. WHO THEY LIKE: Shoya Nakajima (Portimonen­se), Pepe (Free), Radamel Falcao (Monaco), Divock Origi (Liverpool), Oleksandr Zinchenko (Man City).
