The asylum conundrum

I can’t help agreeing with Peter Hitchens’s article last week. The ‘refugees’ in the Channel are focused on reaching the UK specifically. If they have the sort of money to pay peopletrafficking gangs, then why not just go straight to an airport, buy some plane tickets and land here legally and safely to seek asylum?
