Land Rover troubles could hit Premiership
THE Premiership could lose their £1million-a-year sponsorship deal with Land Rover — which has 18 months left to run — after the car company announced 4,500 job cuts.
A renewal meeting was scheduled for last month but a 20 per cent downturn in Land Rover sales — combined with the departure of sales manager Jenny Smith — has resulted in a ‘challenging environment’.
The Premiership are now hoping for a short-term deal. Owen Farrell (above), Maro Itoje and Billy Vunipola are among a stable of household names who drive the 4x4 cars.
The league’s marketing team are also in new business discussions with BrewDog, Hyperoptic, Barclays and Experian.
